Greek Officers

  • ULM GREEK LIFE COUNCIL EXECUTIVE OFFICERS

     

    Here is a list of duties and names of the Elected Officers of the Interfraternity, Panhellenic and NPHC councils. The duties of the following elected officers shall be met in due form by their respected councils and obligations associated within their offices. 

     

    National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) Executive Council

     

     

    Shannan Smith

    NPHC President

    The NPHC President has the overall responsibility for the operation of the NPHC. They are to call and preside at all regular, Executive Committee and special meetings of the NPHC, ensuring that they are conducted with decorum and discipline. Represent, or appoint a representative for, NPHC at all meetings dealing with the welfare of the Council

    The 1st Vice-President shall perform the duties of the President in his/her absence, inability to serve, and removal from office or at his/her call. The 1st Vice-President shall preside over all NPHC committees, serve as Programming Committee delegate, and maintain a close working relationship with the President. The 1st VP is responsible for assisting the President as requested and shall serve as liaison between all committees and the general body.

    The 2nd Vice-President shall perform the duties of the 1st Vice-President in his/her absence, inability to serve, and removal from office or at his/her call. Serve as Membership Committee chair, coordinate and/or supervise the activities of the Council, and perform all other duties usually pertaining to this office, and as specified elsewhere in the NPHC Constitution and By-laws.

    The NPHC Secretary shall keep an up-to-date roster of the members of the NPHC, and make roll call at every NPHC meeting, and be responsible for keeping a record of attendance for all representatives at meetings, activities and programs. the Secretary shal also be responsible for keeping an accurate and strict record of all proceedings of the Council and shall keep record of all documents of the Council and sereve as public relations chair when deemed necessary.  
     
     
    Reggie Wallace
    NPHC Treasurer

    The NPHC Treasurer shall be responsible for the general finances of the NPHC, for the prompt payment of all bills of the NPHC, will Receive all payments due to the NPHC, and collect all dues and inform the President of those member fraternities/sororities who may be financially ineligible to vote. The treasurer shall also be responsible for all deposits, balancing of the checkbook, and writing of receipts as well as notifying members of the NPHC regarding all internal affairs (e.g. fines, notices, etc…).

    The NPHC Parliamentarian shall be responsible for maintaining order in NPHC meetings according to Robert's Rules of Order, serve as Nomination/Election Committee chair, and serve as Chief Justice of the NPHC Judicial Board (J-Board). The Parliamentarian shall also be responsible for handling all impeachment requests, determining their validity, and reporting them to the Judicial Board, and enforcing the laws and by-laws of the NPHC constitution.

    The President shall assist the ULM Coordinator for Greek Life in the management of the Interfraternity Council. The President shall maintain communication with each officer on all administrative responsibilities associated with each position: including maintaining accurate financial records, maintaining files, ordering supplies and any other responsibility that may be deemed necessary.

    The IFC Vice-President will be responsible for managing men’s formal and informal recruitment. By managing this event the IFC Secretary will need to assist the ULM Coordinator for Greek Life in communicating with chapter recruitment chairs on all responsibilities associated with recruitment; which include maintaining accurate preview lists and recruitment files. The Vice-President will also work with the other council judicial officers to coordinate the following: Judicial Awareness programs, fall and spring new member education programs, and other major events that are deemed necessary.   
     
     

    Drew Register

    The Secretary is responsible for being the liaison between the chapters and the Greek Life Office. The Secretary will meet with all of the chapter presidents at the beginning of each semester and refresh them on the judicial procedures and guidelines. The Secretary is also responsible for ordering supplies for formal recruitment and any other recruitment responsibilities that maybe deemed necessary by the IFC Vice-President and the ULM Coordinator for Greek Life.

    The Treasurer shall maintain communication with chapter treasurers. This will include maintaining council files, prepare and submit an annual budget to IFC voting delegation, collect dues ordering supplies and any other responsibility that may be deemed necessary.

    The Vice-President shall assist the Panhellenic President and the ULM Coordinator for Greek Life in the management of the council judicial/recruitment affairs. This includes maintaining attendance records at Panhellenic functions and collecting excuses from chapters’ members prior to set deadlines and presenting them to the council. The Vice-President will maintain communication with each chapters President and Vice President.
